We got to Haines on Fri. The Southeast Ak. State Fair was going on. Jordan and I got to go to it on Sat. They were having a logging contest. The men had to run jumping on to logs carrying a cable looped over their arm like a rope. They had to feed it around the last log and then climb back up and run back across the logs.Then they had to tie another cable to a tree and run back to the first. We saw several fall into a small pond but some were incredibly fast.

The fair had 2 stages with music, dancing, fiddling, even a girl hanging from two scarves, doing tricks in the air.There was the largest blow up bounce thing that was free. It was sponsored by the Alaska Natl. Guard. Of course there was plenty of good eats!
